Building the answers
duty personnel have been waiting for.
Pl8tek was founded by Colin Buchanan, U.S. Army Sniper Section veteran. Years on a duty holster told him which corners of the gear were quietly costing people time, comfort, and trust. Off-duty conversations with friends in military and law enforcement told him nobody was fixing it. So he did. The R.O.E.t8 and the StandA.R.D. are the result. Built for the people who carry the load every day, by someone who carried it first.
The duty rig hasn't really moved in thirty years.
Same angle, all day.
- Fixed presentation angle fights you the moment you sit down
- Hot spots and pressure points wear on you across a long shift
- Draw mechanics change depending on what you're wearing over it
- Armor swaps and gear changes reset your muscle memory
- Designed for a job that looked different thirty years ago
Two positions, one rig.
- Two-position swivel meets you in seated and standing both
- Comfort hinge moves with the hip instead of digging into it
- Same consistent presentation, standing, seated, or in between
- Customizable sizing per user, left or right-handed, no swap kit
- Bolts to the duty holster you already trust. No platform switch.
The long gun lives where you can't reach it.
Stored where you can't get to it.
- Rifle stored in the trunk means leaving the vehicle to retrieve it
- Behind-the-seat racks force a turn-and-fumble in a pressure moment
- Partition-mounted locks demand both hands and a clear view
- Universal brackets rattle, scratch, and shift on rough roads
- Most factory lock setups need a key when you don't have one to spare
Within reach of the seat.
- Mounts within the cab where you can put a hand on it without turning
- Single-handed release built for the moment you're already in motion
- Rifle or SBR ready for cab deployment, not trunk retrieval
- No-drill installation keeps the vehicle's OEM hardware intact
- Driver or passenger configuration, built to the platform you actually drive
Twelve hours in the seat.
Then you still have to draw.
01
The Seatbelt Problem
You feel it on every traffic stop. The belt drops right across the grip and you fight the wrong angle to clear it. Pivot to the seated position and the grip moves clear of the belt's path. By the time your door's open, the draw line is already clean.
02
The Draw Angle While Seated
Stock holsters present at the same angle no matter what you're doing, which means the seated draw is always the compromise. Pl8tek's seated position cants the grip into the natural line your hand wants to travel, so the draw works with the geometry of the seat instead of against it.
03
The Snap-Back
Step out of the vehicle and the holster snaps upright in a single motion. No second hand, no fumble, no two-step reset. The same auto-return that gets you ready as you stand is what makes the system intuitive enough to forget about until you need it.
04
The Long Game
Career hip and back pain isn't from one bad day. It's from twenty years of the same pressure point. A holster you can actually adjust to your body, your vehicle, and your shift is gear that's still doing its job when you put your papers in.
If your gear is fighting you for ten hours a day, the eleventh hour isn't going to be your best one. Comfort isn't a luxury on this job. Tired hands are slow hands.
Already out
in the field.
Currently in the hands of multiple city agencies, Special Response Teams, and undergoing military testing for both products in the field. The R.O.E.t8 and the StandA.R.D. have been put through scuffle tests, transport runs, and dynamic-movement drills, no field failures reported to date.
The teams
using it now
Multiple Special Response Team programs across the country picked it up first. The use case sold itself: vehicle entries, dynamic CQB, warrant work. Every one of those starts with a draw from a position no range drill ever covered.
What the
military's seeing
Mid-evaluation on a body-worn equipment program. Independent eyes on the draw mechanics, retention under load, and what happens after a few thousand cycles in salt, heat, and the back of a truck. We'll share what we can when we can.
Same hardware,
no asterisk
If you've ever tried to clear a holster from a driver's seat, really tried, not in a dry-fire video, you already know why this is on our store page. Instructors, competitors, and serious carriers get the exact part the teams get.
Made to be run hard.
Built from the materials the duty industry already trusts, finished in our shop, assembled by hand in Concord.
Built from the same composites Safariland and other duty manufacturers spec for their holster systems, on purpose, to meet the same rigorous industry standards. Rigidity and comfort engineered in balance.
High-tensile aluminum, machined to bolt up to the OEM mounting points already in your duty vehicle. No-drill installation, no factory warranty impact.
